About

How we rank and review

Plain answers to two fair questions: how do we rate things, and how do we make money?

What we compare

We only compare products sold on Amazon Australia, where we earn a commission through our links. That means we don't cover every Korean skincare product sold in Australia. A product sold only in other shops won't appear here, even if it suits you better.

What "Best overall" means

"Best overall" is our top pick from the products we compared on that page. It is not a claim that it's the best product sold in Australia. The other picks are labelled for the skin type or job they suit best.

How we rate

We judge a product on its ingredients and the evidence behind them, what the maker says it is designed to do, and how it fits an Australian routine and budget. Ratings are out of five and are our own editorial opinion. They are not customer reviews, and they are not Amazon star ratings. We give honest verdicts, including the products we'd skip.

When we describe a product's texture or finish, it comes from the maker's own description or from what the formula is built to do.

Prices

We show a price guide instead of an exact price, because prices change often. Each product gets a guide from $ to $$$$, based on the Amazon Australia price when we last checked:

  • $ — under $20
  • $$ — $20 to $34
  • $$$ — $35 to $49
  • $$$$ — $50 or more

Click through to see the current price before you buy.

Dates

The "Updated" date on a page is the last time we checked it.

How we make money

Some links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. No brand pays us for a review, a rating or a place in a roundup.

On sunscreen and health

Skincare is personal, and sunscreen is a health product. We don't make therapeutic claims; for sun protection we point you to the TGA, Cancer Council and CHOICE. Always patch-test and check with a pharmacist or doctor if you're unsure.
