Privacy Policy

Bare Seoul ("we", "us", "our") runs the website at bareseoul.com.au. We're based in Australia and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we treat any personal information connected with the site. If anything here is unclear, email hello@bareseoul.com.au.

The short version

• You don't need an account to read the site, and we don't sell your data.
• We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how the site performs.
• When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set its own cookies.
• Some of our providers — Google, Cloudflare, affiliate networks — process data overseas.
• You can email us any time to access, correct or delete information we hold about you.

What we collect

We keep collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use the site, it can include:

• Usage and device data — the pages you visit, the date and time, the site you arrived from, and details about your browser and device. Collected automatically through analytics and our host.
• Approximate location — a general location such as country, state or city, estimated from your IP address. We don't collect precise GPS location.
• What you send us — if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever is in your message.

We don't ask for sensitive information. Please don't send us health details or other sensitive information by email.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use two kinds:

• Analytics cookies help us count visits and see how pages perform.
• Affiliate cookies are set by a retailer or its affiliate network after you click an outbound link, so a purchase can be credited to us. These are governed by that company's privacy policy, not ours.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. Most browsers also let you send a "Do Not Track" signal.

How we use it

We use the information to deliver and secure the site, understand which content is useful and improve it, reply when you get in touch, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. We don't run a mailing list, and we don't send marketing emails.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and performance. It sets cookies and collects usage and approximate-location data. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address — it uses it only momentarily to estimate location. You can opt out across all sites with Google's browser add-on, and read how Google handles data in the Google Privacy Policy.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that help us run the site, and only as needed:

• our host and content delivery network (Cloudflare), which serves and helps protect the site;
• our analytics provider (Google);
• the affiliate networks behind the retailers we link to — such as Amazon Associates — when you choose to click through to them.

Each has its own privacy policy.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, and affiliate retailers you click through to may be overseas. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to see your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, but their handling is ultimately governed by their own policies and the laws where they operate.

How we hold and protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including serving the site over HTTPS and limiting who can reach our accounts. No website can promise perfect security, but we collect little and don't hold it longer than we need.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@bareseoul.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time, at no charge. If we ever can't act on a request, we'll tell you why.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email us first at hello@bareseoul.com.au and we'll work to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or call 1300 363 992.

Children

The site is written for adults and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date below and post the new version here.
